Jungle Camp & Village Homestay 4 Days Adventure Trek Nam Ha NPA

Trip overview
This is unique both experience of nature and culture experience through the untouched of jungle and remoted community village in Nam Ha NPA with expert forest tour guides, who will teach us about indigenous people lifestyle used by local’s hunter in round three days in the dense forest, sleep at the banana leaf camp, do fishing and frog hunting. The wildlife jungle camp and village homestay will bring us up to walk deeper into Nam Ha NPA, always learning about medicinal plants and animal habits, cooking species collected on the way without modern utensils at the campsite and setting traditional hunter self-mad tent.

Itinerary
Day 1: Ban Prang-Ban Nam Khouy
Briefing with the tour guide and depart from the office or your hotel to visit the morning market, where we get the food supplies, then heading to Khmu villages on the main road and exploring culture and tradition of Khmu minority group in Ban Prang. The guide will lead you walk through the middle of the village and talk about Khmu experience briefly. Start hiking up to the mountain from Ban Prang to Ban Nam Khouy, enjoying the nature in the Nam Ha NPA. we will stop to forage edible vegetation to prepare our picnic lunch as cooking in the forest by using the jungle methods as banana leaves, bamboo pipes… At around 03:00pm, arriving to the village of Lahu minority group, that will be on time to do village sightseeing, enjoying the great view point before sun sets and exploring culture and tradition of Lahu minority group
Remark: no toilet, bathing is walking down to small stream

Day 2: Ban Nam Khouy-Jungle Camp
After breakfast, tea or coffee, start trekking along to the valley of Nam Ha NPA from Ban Nam Khouy to Jungle camp site. Trek will bring you into the primary forest to enjoy the nature in the Nam Ha NPA. Sometimes, we will stop to forage edible vegetation and learn about herb, animal… during the trek. On this day is a unique experience trek through the untouched jungle of Nam Ha NPA, on wildlife trail, learning jungle survival skill, and medical plant (herb). Trek will climb to the mountain for 1000 meters up from the sea level. Continuing on the trail we soon find ourselves deep in an ancient forest, surrounded by giant trees as the sounds of wildlife in the air. As we move further into the afternoon, we must find a suitable campsite for the night and will arrive to the camping area around 04:00pm

Day 3: Jungle Camp-Ban Nalan
Early in the morning, you may be interested to do Jungle safari (early morning if you want), listening bird’s singing to each other’s and short trek around the camp site before breakfast. start trekking downhill to Nam Ha rive. Around midday we will stop at a picturesque location for Lao jungle picnic, before pushing on through the wild jungle landscape; crossing river, and climbing over or under mighty trees fallen across the trail. We continue hiking on the trail through dense jungle, where fields of cardamom and rattan are decorated with huge banana plants and groves of bamboo. After lunch stop, keeping on trek to Ban Nalan (homestay). So, checking in time before you do explore the culture and tradition of Khmu minority group. Before dinner is served at 7:00pm enjoy rest or take a refreshing wsimming in the river, and then Baci ceremony is next. For nightlife activities in Khmu village is enjoying Khmu traditional perform, bonfire…, lastly head to bed in the comfort of Khmu homestay

Day 4: Ban Nalan-Chalernsouk village or Nalan-Nahome-Namlue village
In the morning we still have time to visit the village, test Lao Coffee or local tea by bamboo cup, and get a chance to practice cross bow shooting and rice ponding by hand.

After breakfast, on this day we have two options as:

The first option (4-6 hours hike) by hike uphill through forest. Traditional lunch will be prepared end of Nalan village’s responsible route on the forest path. Thereafter, we will have an easy two-hour hike down the mountain slope until we arrive at the Chalernsouk village, where our tuk tuk driver will be waiting for us and shuttle the group back to Luang Namtha.

The second option (5-6 hours hike) follow the Nam Ha River to Ban Nalan Tai and through the open cultivated areas of the Khmu and Lanten minority group. Lanten is a minority group who still wear traditional clothes, make their own textile, and do natural color clothes dyeing and bamboo paper maker (according to the season). After lunch and visiting the village, we take gradually hike up to steep hill into the jungle, the trail is more challenging, but it is also more and more beautiful forest, landscape, and canopy. The final descent takes the group past upland cultivated areas tended by the people of Ban Nam Lue. The trail steepens here and can be slippery after rainfall.  And that is where we end our trek and return to Luang Namtha in the afternoon by Tuk Tuk.
